Mark Sapara brings over three decades of higher education leadership to his role as Associate Vice President and Senior Advisor to the Vice President for Student Life. As AVP, Mark plays a critical role in advancing divisional strategic priorities while ensuring that new initiatives are implemented with efficiency, care, and collaboration.

A key member of the College Budget Committee and other institutional working groups, Mark contributes to board-level strategy, cross-divisional planning, and high-impact special projects on behalf of the Vice President of Student Life. He leads efforts that require complex coordination—such as launching new student life programs or supporting institutional change—by building the structures, processes, and teams necessary for success.

Mark is especially focused on driving strategic planning across the division, fostering professional development for staff, enhancing internal communications, and facilitating seamless change management for emerging initiatives.

Known for his systems thinking and collaborative spirit, Mark is dedicated to ensuring the Student Life division remains agile, student-centered, and aligned with Lafayette’s mission and strategic goals.
